Reiki F.A.Q’s.
Q. Will I get drained of energy if I give a Reiki treatment to someone?
A. Just the opposite – you will receive Reiki energy at the same time.
Q. Should protect myself by some method when giving Reiki to someone who is ill?
A. Only if they have a contagious condition, such as a rash. Then you simply do not touch them, by holding your hands a couple of centimetres above their body will protect you from their illness.
Q. Do animals like Reiki?
A. Many do, though some don’t. Most dogs like Reiki, cats tend to be more independent so this is perhaps more difficult to say. We hear that local horses are responding very well to Reiki.
Q. Do you have to be a religious person to use Reiki?
A. No, Reiki is a healing system independent from any religion. Reiki is practiced all round the World. Many Reiki practitioners are spiritual people, but this is not a requirement.
Q. Does the title Master indicate some form of supremacy or control.
A. No. Reiki originated in the Far East. Specifically, Usui Reiki originated in Japan where “Master” is simply a term for “Teacher”.
Q. Can I use Reiki instead of going to the doctor?
A. This is not advisable. It is best to consult a Doctor to find out just what you are suffering from. Reiki enhances all other healing modalities and is at its best when used in combination with something else.
Q. I have been told that I’m a natural healer as I’m certainly doing some kind of energetic healing. Is this Reiki?
A. Reiki is a system of accessing Universal Life Energy, not the energy itself. If you haven’t been attuned to the Reiki you’re not doing Reiki – though you may be accessing the same energy.
Q. I’ve been told that distance healing is only possible at level 2 – is this true?
A. Distance healing is only taught at level 2, where you are taught special symbols which enables you to do this.
Q. Why should I do Second Degree Reiki?
A. You do not have to, many people are quite happy with Reiki 1. However, if you wish to be able to help others or animals with distance healing and be a Therapist charging a fee for your treatment, then you will need professional indemnity insurance to practice.
